i had this dream sometime last year, and though i never bothered writing it down, i still remember it so clearly.
in the dream, i was sitting up in bed, having just woken up, and my room was filled with sunlight. it was brighter than usual, though i can't really explain what made it feel that way.
there was a transparent plastic bag filled with ice on the bed in front of me. for a few seconds, it moved strangely across the blanket, almost like two objects in a video game sliding against each other in that glitchy kinda way where they never quite touch properly. then it settled.
i noticed a green shape inside the ice. as it melted, the frost cleared, revealing a green dragonfly, perfectly still, as though it had been frozen in place. strangely, no water was left behind.
then this thick, green substance began to ooze out from its tail. it was a little like mint green, but with a much stronger, greener hue. i remember looking at it, curious about what i was seeing.
but there was something else in the room. i could feel a presence near me. somehow, i knew it was an angel. i never actually saw anyone, but i didn't question it either.
as i looked at the dragonfly, a message came to me. it wasn't spoken aloud but felt more like something being placed directly into my heart, something i understood without needing to hear it.
this is an antidote for you, from god.
i also felt god's presence, distinct from the angel's. the angel was to my right, slightly ahead of me. while god's presence was to my left and above me, surrounding me and filling the entire room. it's difficult to explain how i knew any of this. i just did.
and then i woke up.
the feeling was so intense that i immediately sat up in my actual bed and looked at the space in front of me to see if the bag of ice was still there.
i've thought about this dream a few times since then. i don't know if it meant anything, but something about it stayed with me.
i know dragonflies are often associated with transformation and change, but i keep coming back to the antidote. an antidote for what, exactly? and why a dragonfly?
i don't have any answers. maybe it was just a dream, but i thought i'd write it down anyways. maybe someone will have an interpretation i haven't considered, or maybe i'll come across something one day that makes it all make sense.
for now, it's just something i remember.
