hi, i'm hailey. welcome to my cozy little corner of the internet ♡
i'm a nostalgic soul who grew up on games, anime, glitter, and the soft, sweet glow of the y2k era. it was a time of pure self expression, raw and real, filled with sparkly gel pens, glossy lips, low rise jeans, that flirty babecore energy, and a hopeful warmth of a better world that still tugs at my heart.
this space is where i reminisce, share my thoughts, gush over my loves. get comfy and explore with me.

likes: ice cream, tasty snacks, fashion design, designing lingerie + cute little accessories, modding consoles + tinkering with LEDs

interests: drawing, fashion, digital art, game design, photography, making music, coding, creating cozy lil sites + graphics, 2000s gaming, running communities + old school forums, the mind, plant + pond life, writing (since the early 2000s and never stopped)

i'm obsessed with leopard print, especially brown or hot pink. it's the sexiest blend of spicy and girly, and has that rebellious, lust‑kissed, seductive heat that screams hot girl confidence. it's peak babecore aesthetic and sexy as hell. polka dots are my other all‑time fav pattern but in a totally different way... soft, gentle, feminine, and sweet
i also love the emo, scene, and goth side of 2000s fashion with dramatic eyeliner, glittery accessories, black lace accents, and dreamy dark toned outfits that still feel flirty and expressive

dreams: to begin something meaningful in japan, a story, a game, a world shaped by my OCs, and let it ripple outward into something kind. japan feels like the heart of everything that inspires me... the warmth, the creativity, the way people build worlds with so much love. i want to create something there that reaches the whole world, something that makes people feel connected, seen, and safe... maybe even a tiny step toward the softer, peaceful world i always imagine ♡

when we could hold the things we loved in our hands

there's something happening in the background of modern life that feels heavier than people admit. physical media is fading out, slipping away year by year, replaced by digital stores and cloud folders that don't live anywhere you can touch. most people act like it's just a normal upgrade, something convenient and expected. but it's not. it's a cultural loss. a quiet loss of something that made us who we are.

i always say that physical media was never just about ownership, it was an emotional language.

the 2000s felt warm because the things you loved existed in your hands. you could hold your favorite game, feel the texture of the case, flip through the little booklet inside, let your fingers glide across the cases that carried little eras of your life inside them, the ones that became part of your personality and made you feel alive, shaped your taste, your creativity, your friendships, your sense of self. they lived in the weight of a disc, the glossy cover art, the tiny imperfections on the plastic, the way certain cases always ended up a little worn because you reached for them so often. your world was right there, physical and present, part of your room and part of your life.

the physicality of media made connection feel real. a physical gift carried the energy of the person who gave it to you. someone had to go somewhere, pick it out, hold it, wrap it, hand it to you. that whole process was intimate. it was a small, intentional gesture of love. it meant something. it stayed with you. even years later, you could pick up that object and remember the moment it entered your life.

digital gifts don't do that. digital ownership doesn't do that. it's weightless and invisible. it doesn't sit on your shelf. it doesn't age with you. it doesn't carry the presence of the person who chose it. it doesn't become part of your room or your memory in the same way. it exists nowhere you can touch.

and when physical media disappears, something else disappears with it. something quieter, something harder to name, but something that makes us, us.

we lose the small moments that made sharing feel real. the act of handing something to someone and watching their face light up. the way touching something real could bring back who you were in that moment. the comfort of owning something that lived in your room, in your hands, in your memories. the warmth of giving and receiving things that carried a little piece of your world.

sometimes i look at my old game cases, my dead or alive covers, my halo discs, my sonic booklets, and i'm instantly pulled back into the moments when those games first entered my life. i remember the excitement, the friendships they sparked, the people i met online, the communities i fell into, the creativity they brought out in me. these games meant everything to me, and even now, just seeing them or playing them again feels like stepping into a small escape from the world. they remind me of who i was, who i became, and all the warmth those years carried. they still feel alive in a way digital files never do.

physical media created tiny communities just by existing. people traded games, showed off collections, gifted albums, shared discs, decorated shelves, and let what they owned become part of their identity. it made connection take up space in your life and made the culture feel alive.

digital media doesn't do that. it keeps everything hidden in private folders no one ever sees. it leaves you alone with your memories instead of letting you share them. it takes away the physical parts of life that made things feel real. the things we love end up living in places we can't touch instead of in our hands, and that changes the way we relate to them and to each other.

the disappearance of physical media gets talked about like it's just a tech thing, but it's not. it's a cultural shift. it's a slow, quiet change in how we relate to each other. it's the fading of a physical language of connection that once made life feel warm and grounded and real.

one day, people will look back and realize that something quiet and meaningful disappeared while everyone kept reaching for whatever took the least effort. and maybe then it'll make sense why the loss feels so heavy to the people who grew up with it.

physical media mattered in ways most people never noticed. and now that it's disappearing, those small ways suddenly feel enormous. the world doesn't feel as bright as it once did, society has changed so much and culture has declined, but whatever comes next, i'm just grateful i lived through the 2000s.

the 2000s were full of warmth and creativity and real connection. they still feel like home, and if you lived through them too, you know exactly what i mean.
